ReplyDeleteFirst and foremost, congratulations on your recent fossil discoveries albeit it was last year! Let me introduce myself. My name's Tracy and I'm a college student currently doing A Levels. I have great interest in pursuing palaeontology as a career choice after completing my Pre-U course and was absolutely elated after I read the news of the recent fossil discoveries. What a breakthrough for our country! I felt somewhat relieved as well since no fossils have ever been discovered on home grounds before last year and such findings should be celebrated nationwide. However, you can imagine my dismay when I found out that palaeontology was not an available course here. Hence, I've resorted to applying for further studies overseas and was successful in obtaining offers from several UK universities to pursue masters in palaeontology.
As I was reading the articles, I stumbled upon the mention of your name and that you are a UM postgraduate in Geology. Hence, I thought you might be able to give me a little insight into your field of study as I understand palaeontology and geology are quite closely related. I have found it quite difficult to get proper advice from the people around me as none of them can quite grasp the scope of this area of study. In fact, most if not all have discouraged me from pursuing this course. With that said, I was wondering if you could provide me some advice or feedback on your thoughts towards your course and the challenges you've faced pertaining to it thus far.
